Faces to Names · 2025 – 2026
A bilingual brand and website for a national charity that helps high school students tell the stories behind the names on Canada's war memorials.

The brief
Faces to Names is a registered Canadian charity and remembrance education program moving into the high school curriculum. Students research the people named on their local memorials and share their stories: "Every name has a face. Every face has a story." Its sister program, the Canadian Remembrance Torch, needed to sit alongside it. The charity needed one brand in English and French, and a website that speaks to students, teachers and communities.
My role
I created the bilingual brand identity and designed the website, including its structure, wireframes and copy. I also wrote the prompts and art-directed the AI-generated imagery, keeping every image respectful and as historically accurate as possible for a sensitive subject.
What I did
- Bilingual identity: English and French logo sets for Faces to Names, plus a sister logo for the Canadian Remembrance Torch.
- Brand guidelines: deep red as the lead colour and amber for calls to action, with clear imagery rules, such as no combat scenes and every branch of service represented.
- Website: Home, About, Teachers, How It Works and Get Involved pages, mapped from wireframes, with the French version in progress.
- Copy: page copy built around real student stories.
- AI image direction: prompts, briefs and art direction for a library of scenes of students researching and connecting.
Results
The brand and site are live. Partners include McMaster University, the University of Guelph, the Juno Beach Centre, the Social Studies Educators Network of Canada and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
