Ocean Ops · 2026 – present
I co-founded Ocean Ops and designed its web app: booking and scheduling software with an AI assistant that runs ocean tourism operators' WhatsApp for them.

The Ocean Ops web app I designed: the Today screen operators open each morning
The brief
Dive schools, shark-cage operators, fishing charters and whale-watching companies lose hours every day on WhatsApp: answering the same questions, taking bookings, rescheduling for weather and sending reminders, often while they're out on the water. Ocean Ops is full booking and scheduling software for these businesses, with an AI assistant that handles that admin in each operator's own voice, so the crew can spend their time with customers.
My role
I'm one of the co-founders. I co-created the product concept, ran the discovery research, and designed the web app's interface and user experience: the user flows, the layouts and the screens operators use every day. Building software meant thinking through every edge case, from double bookings to weather cancellations to a crew member checking the schedule from a boat. I'm hands-on in the build: I set up every AI persona and the Meta and WhatsApp connection, write every knowledge base, run quality assurance, and use AI coding tools through GitHub to ship new parts of the software. I also own the brand, the website and all client relationships.
What I did
- Research: discovery work with 20 ocean businesses to shape the product around how they really work.
- Web app and UX design: user flows, layouts and interface design for the booking and scheduling app, plus quality assurance before each release.
- AI implementation: WhatsApp Business and Meta setup, AI personas and a knowledge base for every client.
- Shipping: new features deployed through GitHub using AI coding tools.
- Brand and website: the Ocean Ops logo system and website, written for operators who aren't technical.
- Client relations: onboarding, training and ongoing support for each operator.
Results
The assistant answers every incoming message, takes and changes bookings against the live schedule, reschedules for weather and sends automated reminders, all in each operator's own voice.
Designed for a crew that's busy on the water.
Every screen answers one question fast: who needs a reply, what's running today, and is the weather safe. The AI handles the routine messages, and the team can take over any conversation with one tap.
